Love & Money: Financial Coaching

Money isn’t just about numbers—it’s about feelings, history, and the dreams we’re trying to build. For many individuals and couples, money is one of the most emotionally charged topics they’ll ever face. It can stir up excitement, fear, shame, self-loathing instead of self-love, or even resentment towards your significant others.

If you’ve ever felt your stomach tighten before checking your bank balance, or avoided a “money talk” with your partner because it felt hopeless, you’re not alone. Our beliefs about money are shaped by our upbringing, past relationships, and life events. Without realizing it, we carry those beliefs into how we save, spend, and plan for the future.

Financial coaching helps untangle this web. Unlike traditional financial advising, which focuses solely on numbers, financial coaching addresses the why behind your money habits. For individuals, this means uncovering and rewriting old money stories that keep you stuck—whether it’s fear of the future, overspending to self-soothe, or never allowing yourself to enjoy what you’ve worked for.

For couples, financial coaching provides a safe, neutral space to talk openly about money without the usual tension. It’s not about deciding who’s “right” or “wrong,” but about creating shared goals and learning tools to communicate about money without stress. The result? Less arguing, more teamwork, and a plan that supports both partners’ dreams.

As both a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and a Financial Counselor, I help clients bridge the gap between emotional wellbeing and financial stability. Because when your emotional and financial health align, you don’t just manage money—you create a life you love.

Within a few sessions, clients discover how to gain a healthy relationship with money:

  • Identify the emotional roots of their financial behaviors
  • Create practical, values-based money plans for short term and long term
  • Develop healthier communication about finances in relationships
  • Reduce financial anxiety and increase confidence

If you’re ready to replace stress and uncertainty with clarity and confidence, let’s talk. Financial coaching could be the most loving investment you make—in yourself, your relationship, and your future.

Fear about the future has a way of stealing today’s peace. And today’s inner turmoil has a way of stealing your financial future. The longer you wait, the louder the “what-ifs” get—and the harder it can feel to make changes. But here’s the good news: the moment you take even one step toward clarity, the fear begins to fade. You don’t need to have it all figured out before we start—you just need to be willing to begin.

Rewrite your Financial Story

I know it might feel impossible right now, especially if you’ve been paralyzed by traumatic events, or carrying anxiety, shame, or the weight of past mistakes. But here’s the truth: your financial story is not set in stone. You can rewrite it—starting today. I blend the practical “how-to” of money management with the emotional support you need to take real action. Together, we’ll untangle the stress, quiet the fear, and replace it with small, doable steps that build momentum. This isn’t about judging your past or forcing you into a one-size-fits-all budget. It’s about creating a plan that feels good to you—one that matches your values, goals, and life.

You can feel lighter. You can feel in control. You can feel hope again. And I’d love to help you get there.
Your future self is already thanking you for taking this step. Let’s get started!

Appointments that are cancelled in less than 48 hours may be rescheduled on the condition that the cancellation was due to an emergency. Appointments can be rescheduled within the 48 hour window to be done online or in person later that week, depending on availability.

In the case of inclement weather that occurs within the 48 hour notice period, we have the option to have our appointment via video or phone. Either therapist or client reserves the right to request an online appointment in the case of inclement weather. The most important thing is that we remain as safe as possible!

Private Pay and Documentation Payments:

I know that money issues impact everyone in different ways. In order to keep things current and least stressful, I send clients invoices the day prior to their meeting time. That invoice includes a link to a payment portal. I ask all clients to  pay via the link prior to the meeting time.
